Bacon and Bleu London Broil Recipe Wins One of Four Top Prizes
Rebecca Rode of Branford, Connecticut recently took home top honors in a national recipe contest from Dream Dinners, Inc. Out of hundreds of entries, Rode’s “Bacon and Bleu London Broil” recipe wowed the Dream Dinners judges to win the “steak” category.

The second annual Dream Dinners Recipe Contest, which solicited nationwide entries during the fall season, called for recipes in four categories – steak, chicken, pork and seafood.  Out of hundreds of entries, the top 10 recipes in each category were tested and judged on ease of preparation, taste and presentation before the grand-prize winners were chosen.

Rode’s recipe stood out for its decadent, yet savory bacon and bleu cheese topping, giving an everyday steak a high-end twist. After having recently lost her job, Rode said winning the recipe contest was a boost to her spirits.

“I was so elated when I got the phone call, I was actually jumping for joy!” commented Rode, who has lived in Branford for nine years. “Dream Dinners has been a great addition to my life – the food and convenience alone made me hooked.”

There are five Connecticut Dream Dinners locations including the Branford store Rode frequents, which is located at 71 West Main Street. Other Connecticut locations include stores in Berlin, Manchester, Plantsville and West Hartford.

Dream Dinners March menu features a delicious line-up of 17 new recipes, including the recipes created by the other three contest category winners: Citrus Marinated Fish Tacos, Simmered Chinese Chicken with Jasmine Rice and Sage Crusted Pork Chops.
