Our NYC Appetizer Adventure

Tina and I just had the craziest week traveling to NYC to appear on Good Morning America Live. I say, ‘week’ but it was really only 2 days!

Our segment was on demonstrating Super Bowl party appetizers using Dream Dinners.

Before we left, we packed up all of our frozen dinners in a suitcase and pre-cooked the flank steak. Also in our bags were, green and blue shirts along with 12th man buttons so we could properly root on our home team. Go Seahawks! I threw in a knife too (which ended up being a brilliant idea that I will tell you about later).

This year (2014), the Super Bowl will be on February 2nd so make sure to plan ahead with meals off the January menu that can easily be turned into game day appetizers. You’ll be able to spend less time focusing on food prep and more time enjoying the game! Try these great options.

Outlaw Chicken Sliders – A platter of these crispy, cheesy sliders are sure to be a fan favorite and take only 20 minutes to prepare.

Tailgating with Dream Dinners

On-the-go-moms need on-the-go meals.  Watch this video!

You may know how it feels… the school-sport-music-church midweek shuffle between activities that leaves a home-cooked meal by the wayside. Many folks may pick it up at a drive-thru, roadside. But remember that Dream Dinners was started when two soccer moms faced that same problem. They were time starved and struggling to get a healthy home-made dinner on the table on those busy nights.

Don’t take a time-out and miss the game with friends and family cooking in the kitchen. These dinners are great solutions to serve while watching the game  and will have you on the couch watching with them.

Cheddar Filled Mini Meatloaves with Potato Pancakes – These easy, cheese filled single serving size meatloaves bake up perfectly in any muffin tin!  If you don’t have a muffin tin, to form the mini loaves, divide the meat mixture into equal sizes (3 or 6), roll into a ball and then a small oval.  Place on baking sheet and follow the directions. Serve these with the delicious potato pancakes on the side and our lite sour cream Ranch dipping sauce. Hugely popular with kids too.

Herb Crusted Flank Steak Sandwiches – Broil or grill the flank steak as directed.
