The story began with Vitalia, ( A Dream Dinners customer and neighbor of Misty Kester), she wanted to do a fundraiser for her family. A mutual friend, Kati, did a benefit concert and donate the proceeds, but wanted to do more.

But in a couple of weeks, a team of 17 men and women will fly in from around the west coast and do something die-hard bicyclists wouldn’t dare – ride a heavy, single speed 42-pound old fashioned beach cruiser in the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic. Other riders used to laugh at them and call them “showoffs”. But now days, the team gets respect and encouragement, even a thumbs up from other cyclists who cheer their cause.|
We never cease to be amazed by how much our Dream Dinners’ store owners involve themselves in community, helping those in need, raising money or hosting awareness events. Phil and Sheila Harris, owners of our Poway, CA store have taken an idea that started with helping the needy at home, and reached around the world to families in Tanzania.
