The ride we dubbed Washington State’s Most Beautiful Ride for Women” lived up to it’s name as Dream Dinners, Living the Dream Foundation launched a spectacular recreational ride in the company’s hometown of Snohomish, Washington. See highlights from the slide show at www.livingthedreamride.org
Women cyclists traveled from Canada, Oregon and across the Pacific Northwest to ride one of four flat courses thru beautiful countryside on a sunny warm day. Hot air balloons and skydivers peppered the sky overhead as the Women’s Living the Dream Ride challenged riders to do their personal best. We saw many mother/daughter teams and even three generations riding together to celebrate Mother’s Day weekend. They finished the ride with a red carpet walk to receive a hard earned luxury gift. Then followed the flowers to a white linen catered lunch and pampering in the Zen Zone.
“It’s amazing!” said one rider. “We’re having a great time! The food, the volunteers, the themed rest stops!”
The youngest rider to do the metric Century (62 miles), was just 14 years old and riding with her mom to an emotional finish. Dream Dinners, Living the Dream Foundation launched the ride to promote women’s fitness, fun and friendship.
But the friendships started early. A Friday night wine walk thru historic Snohomish antique and thrift shops proved to be a great way for ladies to meet each other before the ride.
Whether it’s your first time cycling in an organized ride or if you are experienced, this ride is like none other. We hope you’ll join us in 2014. Registration is open at www.livingthedreamride.org
