We never cease to be amazed by how much our Dream Dinners’ store owners involve themselves in community, helping those in need, raising money or hosting awareness events. Phil and Sheila Harris, owners of our Poway, CA store have taken an idea that started with helping the needy at home, and reached around the world to families in Tanzania.  Here is a recent article about their work.

A San Diego businessman who makes a living helping people package up easy, healthy meals for their families is making a difference by helping hungry families in his community and across the globe. Poway store owner Phil Harris first started researching how he might be able to help feed the needy in San Diego County several years ago.  He now donates money and food to many organizations in the region.  It was as a result of those efforts that he discovered the need to send meal packets to desperately poor people in Tanzania.
