At Dream Dinners, we want to help make your holiday gift-giving a little bit easier! You have enough to worry about this time of the year without stressing over what to give and how to go about it. Our solution is, of course, dinner related! We’ve come up with some creative ways to give the gift of Dream Dinners this holiday, so you can check gift giving off your to-do list.
While this month’s menu is full of delicious meals, we’re highlighting four dishes that would work especially well as gifts, along with our wine pairing* suggestions.
*Figuring out wine pairings for our meals was difficult research to do (no fun at all!), but we managed 🙂
Italian Stuffed Shells: This vegetarian dish is a pan meal that cooks from frozen, and is only 480 calories per serving. Suggested wine pairing: Pinot Noir or Chardonnay
Hearty Chicken & Wild Rice Soup with Breadsticks: A crockpot friendly option! And just 460 calories per serving. Suggested wine pairing: White Zinfandel or Syrah Rosé
Fisherman’s Grilled Salmon with Caper Compound Butter: A grill-friendly and heart-healthy meal! Plus it goes from fridge to table in just 10-15 minutes and is only 260 calories per serving. Suggested wine pairing: Pinot Grigio or Prosecco
Pork Tenderloin Wellington: This is a gourmet option that is still family-friendly and is 360 calories per serving. It can also easily convert to an appetizer. Suggested wine pairing: Merlot or Zinfandel
Once you’ve chosen which meals to gift, we also have some fun ideas for how to present them:
- Tuck the cooking instructions and a Dream Dinners gift card inside a festive oven mitt. You could even take it one step further and include a spatula, whisk, or a specialty bottle of olive oil.
- Have your kiddos decorate clear plastic ornaments (available in most craft stores) and write the names of the dinners you’re gifting on colorful slips of paper, then place the slips of paper inside the ornament. Voila!
- Place the cooking instructions and a Dream Dinners gift card inside a red or green organza bag.
- Buy a bottle of wine to gift with the dinners (see our suggested pairings above) and place the bottle, the cooking instruction card(s), and a Dream Dinners gift card into a wine bottle gift bag or box. If you’re gifting to a new mom or just want to give an extra something that the whole family (kids included) can enjoy, check out some non-alcoholic wines and sparkling juices for inspiration.
It really is that easy! You can buy a gift card the next time you go into your local Dream Dinners store, or purchase one online. We hope our ideas will help ease the stress of gift-giving , so that you can spend more time celebrating with your family and doing all of the activities that make this time of year so special. From all of us at Dream Dinners, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
